5-day Masterclass Academic model

Renowned German artist Ulrich Suberg will give a 5-day Masterclass at academic level from Monday 13 to Friday 17 June 2022.

The Academic Model Masterclass starts every morning with academic drawing of a model. Fundamental anatomical aspects are discussed. After an exclusive lunch, a live portrait will be painted in the afternoon in a long session of 3 hours.

Program

10:00 AM – 12:30 PM Figure drawing, anatomy and perspective, focus on proportion, comparative measurement and the expression of the line. And further focus on the distinction in tone, half tones, light, dark and contrast.
12.30 – 1.00 pm Extensive lunch
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Academic model painting, only long posing sessions, so that through constant observation and optimization you can study the model in all its facets and capture them in oil paint.

The costs are €735, including VAT (excluding any overnight costs).

Explanation

Commenting on his Masterclass, Ulrich Suberg says: 'I emphasize classical figure drawing and portrait painting as the most important aspect of technical skills in art. I studied for two years at the Classical Academy in Groningen and then transferred to the academy in Florence where I studied painting for four years. Now that I will be at the Fine Art Academy in June, I would like to make my knowledge and experience available to others through this Masterclass.'

Participation

The 5-day Masterclass will take place on the above date, depending on the number of registrations. If the Masterclass does not take place due to Covid-19 measures, the date will be rescheduled or the tuition fee will be refunded.
