Marco Krauwinkel

Marco Krauwinkel (1980, Dordrecht, Netherlands) teacher and owner of the Fine Art Academy paints classically realistic portraits and landscapes, studied at the Pedagogical Technical College and worked as a teacher for years. His fascination with painting arose in 2014 during a visit to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. As he says himself: 'I was captivated by the illusion of depth and shape on the canvas.' He is self-taught and is inspired by the 'old masters' from the 17th century, Johannes Vermeer in particular being his great example. His work is characterized by bright colors and the strong light-dark contrast in both his portraits and landscapes.

He paints his work in oil paint, in portraits he works in different layers, first he puts his work in grisaille and then color goes over it. He paints his landscapes with the so-called wet-in-wet technique, which means that he mixes his colors directly on the canvas.

In 2019, Marco's work reached the final of the most prestigious and world's best-known BP portrait award and has been on display in the National Portrait museum in London, the Ulster museum in Ireland (Belfast) and National museum in Scotland (Edinburgh)

His work is appreciated both nationally and internationally.

Ralf Heynen

Ralf Heynen (Tegelen, 1978) is mainly inspired by the interaction of the model and the environment. He tries to bring his models to life while painting and to depict them in a position of peace and contemplation. The figures in his paintings do not seem to care what is happening around them. They are in their own world of thought and do not communicate directly with the observer. He enjoys working with refined fabrics and complicated patterns in a dilapidated environment. Ralf often chooses models that have something mysterious in their appearance. Ralf's work is regularly exhibited internationally, including in Spain, Denmark and Taiwan.

Judith Steenkamer

Judith Steenkamer (1980, Wijchen, Netherlands) paints classically realistic portraits.

Drawing was her favorite activity from an early age, Judith studied Philosophy at the University of Nijmegen. After graduating, she worked at the same university for some time, but painting and its further development was her greatest passion.

Judith took several lessons and workshops, but did not find what she was looking for. In 2012 she met realistic fine painter Emile van Dalen, who taught her the tricks of the trade, based on painting techniques of the 17th century Masters. This has ensured that she has reached a very high level within classical realistic portrait art.

Judith won the audience award for her portrayal of Beatrix in 2013, and her portrait of Beatrix was subsequently purchased by Het Loo Palace. In 2014 she won the Stars on Canvas program with the portrait of Willeke Alberti.

Her work can be recognized by the very high light/dark contrast,  calm compositions and a limited palette with beautifully balanced colors.

Leo Pors

Leo Pors (Rotterdam, 1952) has been active as a painter since 1985, initially painting landscapes mainly in oil paint. As a self-taught artist, he follows a school of trial and error, but by reading a lot about techniques, delving into the literature and occasionally receiving instructions from colleagues, the work grows and gains strength and color.

In the mid-1990s, a change in style occurred in the painter's work. From that moment on he concentrated on painting still lifes in a very realistic style. Everyday utensils, but also objects from past centuries, are depicted on the panels with almost photographic accuracy. In the backgrounds there is the almost imperceptible transition from dark to light and the texture of the painted objects is generally praised. In addition, the natural treatment of the light makes many people wonder whether we are really dealing with paintings here. to do, or with photos.

It is with these still lifes that the painter made his definitive breakthrough and grew into a much sought-after artist. Photos of his paintings appeared in art magazines and the still lifes found their way all over the world. In England his work is sold by renowned galleries, but also in Lithuania, Italy, Portugal, Germany, and indeed almost all European countries, collectors have his work in their possession. The paintings are also represented in various corporate collections. His work has also been purchased by private art lovers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United States of America and Australia. In the USA, the Ende Museum (Pennsylvania) has several works by the painter in its collection.
Photos of his paintings appeared in the art magazines Tableau, Collect and VIND, among others.

In the June 2020 issue of the Art magazine VIND, a six-page article, with photos, was published about the work of this artist.

The Gorcums museum recently held the exhibition "Deceptively real", in which, in addition to the work of Ans Markus and Tjalf Sparnaaij, work by this artist was also represented.

Wencke Vinks

Wencke Vinks (1975) is a Dutch painter, born in Tilburg. To develop her creative skills, she studied at SintLucas and later at the Design Academy (department of people and environment) in Eindhoven. During her studies, she explored painting in her spare hours. From the age of twenty, in addition to her work as an art director, she started to focus on painting. Despite the successes she had with her own design agency, she left the graphic profession behind in 2017 and, after a number of intensive studies with renowned painters from home and abroad, started as a full-time painter.

In 2019 she was selected from more than 9,000 entries for the 'Long Live Rembrandt' exhibition, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
Her work can be recognized by an atmospheric sensitivity that combines form, tone, line and color. Her greatest source of inspiration is the human figure in combination with nature. Important elements for her paintings are technical skill, creative freedom and emotional truth.

Wencke usually uses a fairly subdued color palette supported by some chromatic accent colors to portray the tranquility but also the wonder in nature. Last season Wencke participated in the TV program Stars on the Canvas with Hadewych Minis. She chose Wencke's canvas to take home.
